This Privacy Policy describes how Cart sync (“the app”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when a merchant
installs and uses the app on a Shopify store.
Information we collect
- Store information: store domain (e.g.
example.myshopify.com) and basic shop identifiers needed to operate the app.
- Customer cart sync data: for logged-in customers, we store cart line items (variant IDs and quantities) associated with a customer ID so carts can be kept in sync across devices/browsers.
- App settings: merchant-configured preferences (for example, merge guest cart on login, logout behavior, and optional storefront refresh behavior).
- Analytics: aggregate counters (for example, carts saved, carts synced, orders, and revenue) used for the app dashboard.
How we use information
- Provide the app’s core functionality: syncing saved carts for logged-in customers across sessions and devices.
- Operate and secure the app, including validating requests and preventing abuse.
- Provide reporting and analytics inside the app admin.
- Provide customer support when requested by the merchant.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to:
- Provide and improve the app (for example, hosting providers and infrastructure vendors acting as our processors).
- Comply with legal requirements.
- Respond to lawful requests and protect rights, safety, and security.
Data retention
- Cart sync data is retained while the app is installed to provide syncing functionality.
- If the app is uninstalled, we delete or anonymize app-related data associated with the store within a reasonable period, subject to legal and operational requirements.
Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No security method is 100% secure; you use the app at your own risk.
GDPR / CCPA and Shopify privacy webhooks
Shopify may send privacy-related webhooks (such as customer data requests and deletion requests). We process these requests as applicable to the data the app stores.
Your choices
- Merchants can uninstall the app at any time from Shopify Admin.
